About Project

In Nigeria, many rural regions experience critically low student enrollment, prompting NGOs and education stakeholders to seek insights into the patterns and causes. This project was developed using national school enrollment data to visualize enrollment levels, teacher distribution, school infrastructure, and educational types across geopolitical zones.

The dashboard was built and cleaned with Power Query and visualized in Power BI.

The goal was to provide a clear, interactive tool for understanding where and why enrollment disparities exist.

The analysis helped an NGO identify under-enrolled states and contributed to their targeted interventions in three priority states. The dashboard allows users to filter by school type and education type, offering tailored insights that can inform regional policy and resource allocation.

About the Dashboard

This interactive Power BI dashboard combines three key analyses—student enrollment overview, enrollment patterns & resources, and infrastructure distribution—across Nigeria's six geopolitical zones. It visualizes data from over 99,000 schools, 34 million students, and 1 million teachers, offering insights into how factors like teacher availability, school ownership, and infrastructure influence student enrollment.

The dashboard is segmented into clear sections showing:

  • National enrollment and teacher counts by region

  • Student-teacher ratios and education types

  • School infrastructure levels (electricity, sanitation, classrooms)

  • Regional disparities in access to basic learning resources

Users can filter by education type and school type to explore specific patterns. The report helped an NGO identify high-need states and guided resource allocation for improved enrollment outcomes.
