Supplier Quality & Performance Analysis

Summary:
A manufacturing company faced rising costs and production delays due to material defects and excessive downtime. This project was developed to pinpoint key contributors to these inefficiencies and drive smarter decisions across the supply chain and vendor network.

My Approach:
✅ Cleaned and transformed raw production and defect data
✅ Modeled the data using a star schema for performance
✅ Built custom DAX measures for downtime cost and defect impact
✅ Designed a 5-page interactive Power BI report with dynamic filtering

Key Insights:
📌 3 Vendors accounted for 70% of total downtime hours
📌 Saturdays = Highest cost impact across all months
📌 Raw materials & corrugate types = Top contributors to downtime
📌 “Bad Seams” and “Not Certified” = Most common material defects
📌 August & December = Peak months for production cost losses

Business Impact:
The dashboard empowered stakeholders to:
→ Identify underperforming vendors and materials
→ Optimize maintenance scheduling and reduce downtime
→ Make informed procurement decisions
→ Prioritize root cause resolution for recurring defects
